Freddie was a full scholarship recipient at the University of Utah, and he was selected in the 2009 NFL Draft to compete professionally in the National Football League.  His late father, Fred Brown, played in the NBA & his cousin, Ray Brown, played in the NFL for 20 years, then coached in the NFL for 13 years.  Freddie and his wife, Anika (pronounced Ah-Nih-Kuh) were married in the summer of 2021 and currently reside in Orange County California.
